I rarely purchase cabelas products but I received a pair of backcountry hikers as a gift a couple of years ago and I must say that I am impressed. I never imagined that a $60 pair of boots would last me an entire season. The boots were completely water proof and they have great rebound. When you hit rocks with them as you are dragging your feet through the last hours of the day they provide great comfort. I will be purchasing a new pair of backcountry hikers year after year in order to rotate them They have become a necessity in my inventory of rough hiking. I am good at abusing boots and these boots are good at taking care of my feet.
The only downer about the boots is that they shred laces but I am more than willing to spend 2 bucks a year on laces.

I love my keen oregon boots. They fit great and are very comfy for an entire day of steep sidehilling and rock stomping oak and sage snagging fun. I will say the bad part is the side stitching has come undone from snags but the good news is Keen has a year warranty and I've had the same problem with two pairs and I have returned them both for new ones with NO problems or questions asked. ALL the boots I've bought have had this problem and I haven't had the luck returnoing them like I do with keen. Oh and the other good thing about keen is the wide toe area. No more side toe squishing problems ---------- www.bearpawartworks.com

Kentrex are the most durable. They are expensive but the very reliable construction can take the most abuse of any boot along with awesome comfort. They are the only boot I haven't had trouble with. I have owned Irish setters, danners, cabelas and Justin. It blows all them away
