Anyone have this pack yet. I'm curious about a couple things. Does it pack an 80mm spotting scope and tripod well, does it fit a taller guy when loaded down and has anyone packed meat with it yet?

i talked with gordon smith at mountain archery and he has convinced me to give one a try. i will let you know. i did get the ascent 14 a couple weeks ago and it's perfect for light trips. tied a few bull horns to it and it did well.

I will give it a test this weekend. im headed to idaho for five days of shed hunting and maybe a bear. It does fit my scope and tripod well, has lot's of room and appears very well thought out. It doesn't appear to be built bullet proof but i have had great luck with other sitka products and im sure this will prove to be reliable. Also i called sitka to see if i could buy extra straps and they said they didn't sell them but they sent me some no charge-AWESOME. I have no affiliation with sitka nor do i sell there product but i always endorse them when people ask because i honestly feel they do a great job. just wish the stuff was cheaper....

I have not. the bivy 32 is new this year i think. The turnoff for me is the top pouch buckle system, always messing around just to get your spotter out. As for the 45 i would call mountain archery, the owner Gordon Smith i know has spent a fair amount of time using all of there packs and im sure would give you an honest impression..

Gotta give this pack some more credit. during my outings this year i managed to fully load the pack three seperate times with half a deer (boned). The hikes were all better than two miles and it carried very well. pros- super light and good airspace between the pack and your back. cons- not very water resistant, poor bladder design and i'm still somewhat concerned about it lasting for a more than about three or four seasons but time will tell. I would buy another one if this one makes it at least three seasons.

why is the sitka products and camo so expensive? Is there something special about it?
