Hey guys I have been hunting elk on the Central Mountains Manti unit for the last 2 weeks. They have moved sheep in my normal hunting spot and the elk have split. I was going to check another spot out above Ephraim near horseshoe. I'm not looking for anyone’s honey holes or anything just looking to be pointed to a better spot? Has anyone had any luck in that area this year? Any information would be a big help.

Thers a ton of area with elk on the manti. How hard are you willing to work to get your bull out?

Yea the walking is the easy part, the packing out is the hard part. I mean are you willing to get beat to hell? I had the tag in 08 for muzzy, guided a few guys on the early rifle in 09. Where you from, what part of the unit is the eaisyiest for you to get to?

I’m from Nephi and was going to go up new canyon and in from the south part of horse shoe. This tag means everything to me and it doesn’t matter what it takes to get one out at this point. What’s your suggestion?

I have spent time in the New Canyon area. There are some good spots. Have you spent any time in Canal Canyon??

I probably saw 15 bulls on the Manti last night. None over 320 though. Lots of little bulls on Reeder just east of Canal Canyon.

I found a few bulls in little shoe in the last couple of days. They are still not that agressive yet. The hardest part I'm having now is closing the distance.
